Tito Valdez is an active Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner/competitor as well as a full time instructor and coach. Tito holds the rank of brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and received this ranking from Lotus club Jiu-Jitsu black belt Jesus Jose with training from Kalo Lopez. Jesus is an avid and decorated BJJ competitor, and Tito’s competition record is a testimonial of this distinguished lineage. With competition wins up and down the east coast and southwest, Tito has established himself as a marquee name in the grappling community. He has competed in and won many local and regional submission grappling tournaments. Tito began training in 2007 at 21 years old in Maple Shade, New Jersey under the instruction of Rick Macauley while stationed at McGuire Airforce Base in NJ where he received his BJJ blue belt under Team Balance. Tito continued to pursue the art of Jiu-Jitsu when he moved in 2008 to South Korea for 1 year where he then met Jesus Jose under who he received his BJJ purple belt 4 years later. Tito was the head instructor of Rio BJJ /Lotus club competition school for three years in Alamogordo, NM until another military move relocated him to Albuquerque, NM which led to his ultimate destiny to help build The Jiu-Jitsu Collective. Tito studies and has studied other disciplines that make up what is known today as Mixed Martial Arts. His blended background includes

experience in BJJ, boxing, wrestling, and MMA, giving Tito a well-rounded skill set that he leverages to teach his students. As an instructor, Tito gives every ounce of himself to the students at the academy. Every bit of his knowledge base is taught to his students, hoping to create a tremendously successful competition team. Tito has a great eye for examining techniques and teaching the details that make those techniques effective. Some of his prior students have already had remarkable success in competition including his daughter, Alexa Valdez. Tito’s goal is to put together the fastest growing academy in Rio Rancho/Albuquerque, and he refuses to settle for any less than the best gym possible. Tito’s overall goal as an instructor is to provide a safe and fun learning environment that allows his students to become twice the fighter and competitor he is.
